I sat there, in the rain under a canopy of trees with the music pouring out the doors and windows, with wine in my glass and oil on my lips with a stupid smile across my face. In fact, it’s still there. I cannot help that it is the small things in life that make my heart sing.
I love this country and have since before I initially set foot in it. After my first trip in 2006 I thought back on this country as a magical place where the sky was unlike any other place in the world. The food, the people, the drinks, the language- I loved it all, and always thought back to it fondly.
Groups of people sitting outside their island style homes, cats & dogs meandering the streets, and friendly Greeks shouting at one another from their windows. Time to stop for a while.
because there are so many people who are about to embark on their own RTW trip, I feel I must tell you yesterday was the second worst day of my life. Yup.

I quit a job that I adored. I am getting rid of all my possessions. I am getting on the plane to Greece with no idea if or when I will return to California. In this moment I am fine with that.
Though I have been using twitter under the name @donatifamily for over a year, I am new to @livevicuriously and new to the travel community of twitter. Everyone has been so welcoming, helpful, and inspirational. A huge thank you to many twitter friends who have made the planning, preparation, and launching of this trip a true delight!
I will have no car. I will have no job. I will have NO HOME. Homeless. I am aspiring to be homeless- let’s make sure we’re all clear on this point. I will have no safety net.
