StayDu is a new social site that combines the free, budget, and work exchange ideas and makes them social. It’s like HelpX meets Couchsurfing meets Airbnb.
With hundreds of social media sites for travelers, what makes StayDu unique?
You can stay with locals for free, in exchange for help, or if you prefer a little more freedom stay for a fee. You can filter all your searches depending on your budget needs, and find the right person for you.
StayDu has over 7,200 members and is growing rapidly! With hosts in over 80 countries and many travelers on extended vacations- you are guaranteed to find flexible coverage whether you’re a guest or a potential host. Jobs range from teaching your native language, gardening, house work, manual labor, farm work, and babysitting; there is a selection of helping positions all over the globe for every field of talent.
Plenty of people are offering accommodation for free, and some offer them for as little as 1 hour of “help speaking English”. This usually means a nice conversation over a beverage, which you would do with a host anyway. Of course, these are the gem jobs, and sometimes the work can be five hours per day, five days a week. Make sure you do your research to find the host for you.
If you’re a social traveler and you keep a blog, StayDu even has a place for you, so that fellow travelers can get a sense for who you are. One of the best ways to discover yourself is to kayak on a beautiful beach all alone. Luckily, there’s a place to find that: StayDu.
StayDu has all the makings of a very social site. In fact, I “accidentally” forgot to reply to a message in my inbox, but sent a message to another user. I got called out! A little box appeared “Please be fair and respond to all messages.” Ethics AND Social Media- is this possible? Bravo, StayDu!
For the record, I did go back and reply. Shame on me.
Where’s your next trip to? Let StayDu take the accommodation off your brain and keep the cash in your wallet.
