You can stay with locals for free, in exchange for help, or if you prefer a little more freedom stay for a fee. You can filter all your searches depending on your budget needs, and find the right person for you.

StayDu has over 7,200 members and is growing rapidly! With hosts in over 80 countries and many travelers on extended vacations- you are guaranteed to find flexible coverage whether you’re a guest or a potential host. Jobs range from teaching your native language, gardening, house work, manual labor, farm work, and babysitting; there is a selection of helping positions all over the globe for every field of talent.
Plenty of people are offering accommodation for free, and some offer them for as little as 1 hour of “help speaking English”. This usually means a nice conversation over a beverage, which you would do with a host anyway. Of course, these are the gem jobs, and sometimes the work can be five hours per day, five days a week. Make sure you do your research to find the host for you.

If you’re a social traveler and you keep a blog, StayDu even has a place for you, so that fellow travelers can get a sense for who you are. One of the best ways to discover yourself is to kayak on a beautiful beach all alone. Luckily, there’s a place to find that: StayDu.

StayDu has all the makings of a very social site. In fact, I “accidentally” forgot to reply to a message in my inbox, but sent a message to another user. I got called out! A little box appeared “Please be fair and respond to all messages.” Ethics AND Social Media- is this possible? Bravo, StayDu! For the record, I did go back and reply. Shame on me.

Where’s your next trip to? Let StayDu take the accommodation off your brain and keep the cash in your wallet. Did you hear me? I said, you can travel the world for free– all you have to do is enter the contest and get planning. Two years of free travel are calling.. will you answer?

With a two year membership fee at 19 euro, it pays for itself with the first use. Check them out now, and be sure to enter our contest on Facebook to win one of your very own- just tell us which country you would visit and use your StayDu membership in.

* Each membership is a 19 euro value. Contest ends May 1 and is sponsored by StayDu: A Social Travel Community.

My wife and I are travelling to Australia to warmer climates over our cold winter months in Queenstown NZ. Looking for places to stay that wont cost us too much, or help out for free accom (even better). I have signed up with Staydu but would love a free membership so I can start contacting people. Thanks

I’d love to travel to the U.K to work! Also, the South of France. I’m actually not to picky if it’s in Europe!

Wow! I may have missed this amazing opportunity but I’m still very glad to learn about STAYDU! I’m traveling to Vietnam at the end of the month and hoping to meet all kinds of people through BeWelcome, Couchsurfing, plain old chatting to people and maybe even hitchhiking if the opportunity presents itself.
Brandy, I’ve read soooo many pages on your site and I think you are in my personal top 2-3 travel bloggers right now.
More than anyone else, you’ve encouraged me to remember that people are not inherently evil, travel is enriching, to take things in stride, to keep yourself in mind, to be open to new things, and most of all: to keep travel as a priority.
I’ll stop drooling over your site now (maybe) and keep preparing for Vietnam.
Thanks for all of your posts! I sincerely appreciate every single one I’ve read and would give you ALL the doll hairs I had if I had more than needed for Vietnam. (I don’t even have enough for that…)
In short: you’re the best. I’m a huge (new) fan.
