Eco-Friendly Seoul Vacation

If you’re concerned about your environmental impact during your upcoming vacation to Seoul, you can address it in a few helpful ways. Start by basing yourself at a hotel like the InterContinental Grand Seoul Parnas, which merges eco-friendliness with true Gangnam style. Take the rest of these ideas to heart on your next trip to the center of Seoul.

Uncover a Slow Style of Travel and Take a Pedicab Tour

The Artee Riders Bike Club has made a big name in a short time thanks to the smart, witty, and knowledgeable staff that shows you a side of Seoul that you simply can’t find in guidebooks. If you’re looking to dig deeper into the history of the Bukchon village or even see a secret library, then look no further. This is the tour you want.

The company’s motto is, “tomorrow will be better than today, and [we] hope the next generation will be happier than today’s. We ride to build a better future.” With a motto like that, it’s easy to get on board. The environment will thank you for choosing a tour that generates zero emissions aside from the sweat equity.

From Blogger to Baker to Business Owner, Eat at Plant

The clever owner of Plant started her restaurant journey as a lonely vegan in Seoul, trying to pave the way toward clean and cruelty-free food. Once she realized the demand for vegan food, she began to sell some bakery items to local followers. Eventually, the demand grew so strong that she had enough capital to open her cozy new home at Plant in Itaewon.

Crowds travel from all over the city to chow down on entrees like the Thai Peanut Soba Bowl with creamy avocado, fried tofu, and pickled cabbage. The Kale Basil Pesto Pasta is another favorite, as is the West African Peanut Stew. Plant is tricky to find, though. From Itaewon Station exit 4, walk straight until you see Sneak Soul. Turn left into the small alleyway with steps, and cross the intersecting road. Head straight into the alleyway next to Greek on the Grill, and Plant will be on your right.

Clear Your Head and Grab Some Fresh Air at the Seoul Forest

Who would have thought that this great cement jungle would be home to such an incredible piece of nature? It’s also easily accessible by subway and even has its own stop, Seoul Forest Station. Take exit 3 on the Bundang Line or exit 8 from Ttukseom Station on Line 2. Once you’re above ground, you’ll experience the sound of chirping insects, a gentle breeze, and plenty of paths to explore, just like a local. Don’t be surprised to see couples canoodling and families frolicking around, as this is a popular place to unwind for all!

By choosing environmentally friendly activities like eating vegan, taking public transport, and using pedal power to see the city, you’re taking steps to preserve the planet for future generations while enjoying it to the fullest. The only thing better than that would be having a few more days of vacation to enjoy Seoul even more.
