Leaving Home, For Good

Here Comes The Sun

February 2010
It’s been awhile since I have blogged, and that is due to my whirlwind trip to Maui, Hawaii to visit my dear friend before leaving on my round the world trip in… ONLY 9 days.

It is unbelievable how quickly the time has passed, and how much there is still left to do. Starting the series of goodbye parties/drinks/dinners and having to part for an unknown time with people I have known (quite literally) my entire life is one of the strangest feelings I have ever encountered.

I find more people saying “this isn’t goodbye”…but I can’t help but feel that this IS goodbye. I am beginning a new life on the road for an undetermined amount of time.
I am certain it will change so much of me: my life course, views, and traditions that I will not be the same person I was when I left.

That doesn’t mean, of course, that I am going to become some entirely different person, but the Brandy you all know (and love real bad) will be gone forever.

I can’t wait to start the first day of the rest of my life. Thank you all for coming with me.

Oh Brandy, having been where you are standing now, reading your post gave me the shivers .. . to quote Joan Baez “turn your face into the wind, let your greatest dream begin, I’m with you, darlin’ I’m with you” — no regrets!
