Yesterday I was strolling along the seaside picking up stones I found interesting and tossing the others back into the water.
I spent a few minutes enjoying the ripples the stone made, and then decided I wanted to throw another stone to make more ripples. I was entranced by this simple function for quite a few minutes until I decided I would turn it into a game.
After throwing the initial rock, I wait for the ripples to appear, and then throw 5 more rocks (one at a time people!) into the center of the first ripple. The goal is to get all the stones into the center of the target- but it’s a little harder when you’re playing on the sea, as it’s a moving target. I played this game for an hour, until I was too cold to keep going.
I know… it’s childs play. I could have easily been 8 years old and enjoying this game with the intensity that I was. This is a large part of why I love travel so much.
You are transported back to the feelings of a child, and time becomes something that revolves around your day, not vice versa.
Everything is new, exciting and unfamiliar- you don’t always understand everything that’s going on, and you can find amazement in something as simple as throwing rocks into the ocean, watching the clouds morph shape, or taking the long way home.
That having been said, it’s no secret my postings have become slightly irregular, and definitely more spaced out- but that’s because I am enjoying my life! I am definitely more inspired to write, to tell you all the amazing things I am seeing and experiencing and doing- but I cant bear to drag myself to the computer when I could still be enjoying these things.
You’ll just have to check out my facebook for all the pictures, and fill in the blanks yourself for awhile.
Now get off the internet and go outside!
