The trouble with Greece…

Is that it’s absolutely as amazing as you imagine it.

Admittedly, I love this country and have since before I initially set foot in it. After my first trip in 2006 I thought back on this country as a magical place where the sky was unlike any other place in the world. The food, the people, the drinks, the language- I loved it all, and always recalled it fondly.

This time, before I arrived in Greece I started to panic. What if I had built this country up so much in my mind that nothing could actually be as amazing as I imagined? Did I hallucinate that the clouds seem 4D? Was Greek Salad actually that much different than something I could get back home in the states? Friends, I am thrilled beyond words to report that Greece is still as breathtaking to me today as it ever was in both my reality and my memories.

I’m exhausted friends, and off to rejuvenate my sense of humor, wonderment, and excitement, in the meantime, I’ll be thinking of the next ten things I love about Greece.

I am so happy for you that your Greece is still full of all the wonderment, beauty and flavor you experienced and remembered. Would that all of us could return to a a fondly remembered place and have it be just as it is in our memories. You are a very blessed girl and I thank you for sharing your blessings with all of us who are fortunate enough to travel with you vicuriously.

How amazing to read your words and be able to see through your eyes… Beautiful, fun, exciting, I can almost feel the breeze on my skin with the way that you write. Reading about your days makes me feel like I’m almost taking one of my own. I should read slower… I’m liking the mental vacation 🙂

We both love and hate you to the extreme at the moment! Ryan is still marvelling at your stones for going on this amazing adventure! Now we really want to also visit Greece some day! We both feel you should turn your blog into a book at the end of your travels- you describe everything so beautifully and vividly- I can practically hear the music and clapping!

You know, at the end of your travels you ought to put your blog in book form- you dercribe everything so vividly and beautifully, I feel as though I can hear the music and clapping…. I know I’d buy a few copies and hunt you down to autograph them! 🙂

now listen here you animal mongers- I owe you a GIGANTIC thank you for pushing me to Costa Rica (okay, Tanja, I guess I owe you the thanks, but Ryan looks like Matisyahu, so he wins all the points, ever) last year, because it was such a great experience…we never even got to catch up on that trip. I demand you fly to Greece this moment so we can talk about Costa Rica 😉
I suppose my RTW trip will now have to include the East Coast so I can see you guys in a year (or whatever) and laugh my ass off. You are my second favorite couple EVER! (First place coupleship is reserved for Kat & Ryan as Ryan and I are best friends forever, and possibly blood brothers)
Make sure you send me photos of all the wedding planning & actuality & of your crazy mom 😉
